Call for NIMBL Player/Umpires

One of several new initiatives that the NIMBL Board (and advisors) will be implementing this year will be offering the opportunity to NIMBL players to officiate NIMBL games outside of their age division.

The league will provide no-cost umpire training throughout the off-season.  Players interested will only need to provide their own umpire uniform and if applicable, pay an umpire associate fee.

The benefits of NIMBL player umpires to NIMBL teams are clear.  First and foremost, it will be a recognition of what our league is about.  No more "let's get this game over" attitudes.  No more "I don't even want to be here" personas.  Player umpires know the players and the league.  Player umpires will know the value of enriching the NIMBL baseball playing experience for all.

And, the benefits of NIMBL player umpires to NIMBL player umpires is also clear.  Plan to officiate only 5 games and your team/league fee would be paid!  Plan to work more than 5 games ... and that's cash in your pocket.  Also, you may like it so much that if we are tied to an umpire organization that does other games in other leagues, you may want to take on other games, perhaps during the week.

IF YOU ARE INTERE$TED  in the notion of being a NIMBL player/umpire please email Ken O'Young.
