The current Yard Dog team was founded in 2009, by Brian Carr and Nick Tabick.    Nick suggested that the team name should be the Yard Dogs from a team he had started many years ago when he first joined the league.   The name was a perfect fit for the few recruits the first year and has fit like a glove for this motley crew.

The first season the team struggled to field every week and used a few emergency players every week.   Even with the struggles, the team bonded and grew.   Through word of mouth and a few prospects from the league, the team has developed into what it is today, a team of ball players.    Guys who enjoy the true game of baseball, the sun on the back of the neck, the smell of baseball dirt, and looking for another dayof fun in the sun.
