These are some of the most common questions that you might ask about playing.........

Question: Where are games played?"

Answer: Games primarily played on SUNDAY mornings and afternoons at fields throughout McHenry County but also including Kane and Lake Co.  There is also a chance of a weekday game as well as Friday, Saturday, or Sunday night games as several teams have a field with lights. 

Question: " How old are the players in the league?"

Answer: It varries.  We have three different divsions for 3 age groups: 21 & over, 35 & over and 48 & over.  New to 2025 is a 58+ division. 

Question: Competition wise, how much experience do the players have or do must I have to play in the league?

Answer: Competition is wide spread. Players have played through high school, into college and even professionally in Independent leagues or drafted into MLB teams and played in farm systems. Others have just picked up the game later in life and have been playing ever since. Every player is different.

Question: How fast do the pitchers throw?

Answer: You wont be seeing any Nolan Ryans on the mound but as we all know, we don't throw as hard as we use to when we were all younger. The younger the division, the harder they throw. Pitchers can throw from mid-70's to mid 80's MPH. One thing for sure, The older we are, the more crafty a pitcher is on the mound. Lots of off speed and movement on the ball.

Question: What type of bat can I use?

Answer: In all 3 divisions, players can swing a wood bat...no problem.  But in each divsion, the metal bat standards are different. The 21 & over division players can use BBCOR bats only. The 35 & over division players can use  BBCOR bats.The 48 & over division players can use BBCOR bats only and a few teams are Wood ONLY.  (metal or wood is team dependent).

Question: How much does it cost to play?

Anser: Team fees vary from each team based upon team owner and sponsorships. $200-$300 average is player responsibility. Teams vary $$$.Team uniforms are an additional cost and vary.
