History of The Woodstock White Sox

The Woodstock White Sox made their Charter Member debut in 1997. Originally meant to be a six team league, one by one teams began to dissipate until there were only two teams remaining, the Woodstock White Sox and the Wauconda Bulldogs. Knowing that cancelling the season would only further delay the existence of Men's Baseball in Northern Illinois, the two teams decided that they would form a Two Team League if only to get the league off the ground. The two teams played each other 11 times that first year and our great league was born.

The following year the league expanded to 5 teams and it has been expanding ever since. In their 28 year history the White Sox have won their division 4 times. In 1998, 2004, 2005, and 2023, while also winning five championships, in 1999, 2004, 2014, 2016 and 2024. The White Sox are owned and managed by Frank O'Sullivan and over the years have touted some truly great players such as Danny Super, Danny Parks, John Kelley and Glen Manarik. Some of the impressive achievements these players accomplished can be viewed on this web site under the category titled (records).  Additional career hit leaders not among the top 15 can be viewed under the category "About" page.

The White Sox play their home games on what is arguably the finest field in the league, The Field of Dreams in Emrickson Park located in Woodstock, Illinois. Most of our games can be seen on Sundays during the season usually at 10:00am. As the White Sox get ready to embark on another year they hope to add 2025 to their list of Championship Teams!
